We had a great day repairing radios for Reading and Radio Resource.
Thanks to 10 of our members for giving up part of their Saturday to
repair 102 of these crystal controlled sub carrier FM radios. This
cleaned out all the radios on the shelf that needed some sort of
attention. Only three of the radios were non repairable, thus providing
a source of much needed parts. A month ago 4 members were able to
repair 40 of these radios.
Those who participated today included: Cliff Huff, Don Nordenholt,
Larry Lamia, Pat Jankowiak, Dennis Brady, Stan Baker, Jim Sargent, John
Brown, Bill Gustavson, and Alan Haile.
The Reading and Radio Resource is a United Way funded organization that
provides sight impaired individuals access to daily newspapers, books,
and magazines. Those listening to the broadcasts must use a special sub
carrier FM radio.
Station Manager, Steve Cumming expressed his deepest thanks to all who
donated their time to repair these radios. He even provided pizza,
coffee and drinks.
